What to put in a freelancer brief
A useful brief names the outcome, constraints, decision-makers and definition of done without trying to prescribe every move.

Give the work a reason
Start with the customer, business or team problem that makes this project necessary. Explain what success changes. This context gives a freelancer room to bring judgment instead of only following instructions.
Include the working constraints
List the deliverables, deadline, budget, source materials, approval path and anything that cannot change. A brief becomes actionable when a freelancer can see both the opportunity and the boundaries.
