Information we process

We may process information you provide when creating an account, using the product, contacting support, or participating in an agreement. This can include contact details, account preferences, public wallet addresses, agreement details, and support messages.

Public blockchain records are not controlled by Compenset. A public wallet address and its on-chain transactions may be visible to others through the relevant network.

How we use information

We use information to operate the product, protect users, respond to support requests, investigate potential misuse, and improve the experience. We may also use aggregated or de-identified information to understand product performance.

When information is shared

We may share information with service providers that help operate the product, where required by law, or when necessary to protect users, rights, or system security. We do not sell personal information as a standalone product.

Cookies and browser storage

Browsing Compenset without signing in sets no cookies. When you sign in, our API at api.compenset.io sets the cookies that keep you signed in, which expire after seven days without use, and short-lived ones used during sign-in itself, such as for a two-factor check. These are essential and always on.

Your browser also keeps your language, theme and currency display settings, your cookie choice, and things you save while using Compenset, such as starred orders, saved jobs, private order notes, your support chat and a wallet transaction that is still processing. These are kept in your browser's storage, not in cookies.

Pages where you can connect a crypto wallet (your dashboard, onboarding, and the arbitration and operator consoles) load wallet software from RainbowKit, wagmi, WalletConnect (by Reown) and Base. Once you are signed in there, it keeps its connection state in your browser even if you never connect a wallet, and it contacts Reown's servers: it asks api.web3modal.org for our WalletConnect project settings, and sends pulse.walletconnect.org a usage event that includes the page's address. Both share your IP address with Reown. Public pages, such as the homepage, the blog and sign-up, load none of it. When you connect a wallet, the wallet you choose is contacted too.

The sign-up page runs Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that tells people apart from automated sign-ups. It loads from challenges.cloudflare.com on that page only, and Cloudflare sees your IP address and details of your browser to make the check. It is part of signing up, so it is always on there.

Marketing runs only with your permission. If you allow it, we remember the referral link that brought you to Compenset and, once you have signed up, credit the person who shared it. If you don't, the link isn't kept.

Analytics runs only with your permission. We don't use analytics cookies or tracking scripts of our own today, and we will ask you again before we add any.

You can change your choice at any time from Cookie preferences in the site footer, or from Settings when you're signed in. When you're signed in, your choice is saved to your account and applied in other browsers where you sign in.

Your choices

You can update certain account information in the product. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or portability of personal information. Some records may need to be retained for security, legal, or operational reasons.

Security and changes

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, but no online system can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy as the product or legal requirements change, and will revise the update date when we do.
