Frequently asked

Quick answers

Does Compenset hold my funds?+

No. Funds are locked in a non-custodial smart contract on Polygon. Compenset helps you create and manage the agreement, but does not custody the escrow balance.

When does the freelancer get paid?+

The payout is released after the buyer approves the agreed work. For larger projects, milestones can be released as each stage is accepted.

What happens if work is not delivered as agreed?+

The buyer can raise a dispute from the agreement. Funds remain protected while the issue is reviewed, and both sides can provide relevant context.

Do freelancers need crypto experience?+

Freelancers need a compatible wallet to receive a payout. Compenset is designed to keep the agreement and payment steps straightforward.

What does it cost?+

Compenset uses a 5% platform fee, shown before funding. Your wallet may also show a small network fee for the on-chain transaction.

Can I bring a freelancer I already work with?+

Yes. Compenset is a payment and escrow layer, not a freelancer marketplace. You can use it with people you already know and trust.
